Product Review: BuildASign business card

I've had the opportunity of participating in a few freebie product promos recently, working with Easy Canvas Prints and BuildASign.com.  BuildASign.com is running a promo for 250 free business cards, in exchange for a product review.  I designed my own business cards from scratch (of course!) and ordered their standard business card, printed on 12-pt cardstock, matte finish.  They do offer a 14-pt "Ultra-thick" cardstock option as well.

First, their website and order system was very user friendly.   Very similar to other sites for ordering branding materials (Vistaprint.com, gotprint.com, etc).  However, instantly I noticed the lack of "double-sided business card" printing options as well as specialty shaped cards.  Their prices make up for this lack of option, as 100 business cards on the standard 12-pt stock were $13.99 + shipping.

My order was placed on August 2, and it took 8 business days to process and print the cards, finally shipped on August 15.  The cards arrived 3 days later (August 18) in a thick box and were fully protected from the elements.

The card quality is good, not excellent.  The 12-pt stock is not thick.  The texture of the paper is GREAT, a matte finish with glossy printing.  The design is crisp and colors are bold.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the cards, and for clients in need of a cheap printing option, BuildASign.com is a good option!  Their processing and printing time did seem a bit long, however with a faster shipping option, I'm sure they would have been printed quicker.
